In the last 25 years, Tai Chi Chuan has become increasingly popular with the seniors community for its health benefits and ease of practice.
There are two different types of classes offered by our Institute when instructing seniors.
We provide instruction to the seniors community in learning the postures of the form of Tai Chi Chuan, which involves class time training wherein most of the exercise is performed standing with periodic rest breaks.
The second type of class that we offer specifically relates to members of the senior community who may be experiencing specific health challenges. In these classes, the majority of the training is done seated, and the exercises taught work specifically to assist in overcoming the challenges each student may be facing individually.
The individual centers where we teach will be able to provide the student with information as to the specific type of senior’s class offered.
Regardless of which type of class the student participates in, the training works to improve circulation, balance, respiration and joint mobility. The fact that the postures of the form can be easily adapted to any person's level of physical condition makes it an ideal form of training for seniors.
